More and more projects require awareness of Java Card technology, usually for client security use cases. This session provides background on new and existing usage patterns and offers pointers for starting application development. First it covers the most-significant use cases, with a focus on those open to third-party applications such as NFC.
Next it explores what Java Card can bring to IT and software projects, in particular how Java Card can help protect important and sensitive information such as authentication credentials. Finally it presents an example to outline the Java Card development process and highlights how you can design the security and structure of an application to meet different objectives and security levels.
