After explaining the high-level goals for Java EE 6, we’ll discuss the contents, with particular focus on the ease of development improvements in this release. We’ll introduce the many new APIs in Java EE 6, such as JAX-RS, CDI and Bean Validation. We’ll also discuss profiles in detail and explain their role in making the platform more flexible but also more approachable by developers of all skill levels. Finally we’ll talk about the powerful new extensibility APIs in Java EE 6 and discuss how they can be used to integrate external technologies into the platform.
